A typical industrial cart has two swivel casters in the “front” and two fixed wheels or casters in the “rear”. This arrangement requires the cart to be moved from the “front” and assuming it is to be moved both forward and backward, there needs to be a physical connection to the cart itself so that it may be steered and to prevent any risk of accidental disconnection. In order to “steer” the cart, we use our PowerPusher® Patented 5th Wheel attachment that incorporates a heavy-duty slewing ring on top of our machines. This enables the Power Pusher® to articulate, relative to the connection to the cart, which allows the operator to accurately steer and position the cart. The connection to the cart is achieved by a male/female coupling arrangement, which ensures the PowerPusher® stays safely coupled to the cart during the movement process. Connection is automatically self-aligning by driving the machine towards the mounted receiver.
